...Bio, poster art, LP, 45, Casstte and CD art from past present and future, tour dates, merch and MP3s (coming very soon). Since forming in New York City during the early nineties, HIPPOPOTAMUS has continued to push the boundaries of musical structure. This instrumental trio has evolved to incorporate vastly diverse influences.

...Hippopotamus' alter ego. The Project3 philosophy seems to be, "You only live once so what the fuck." An ever changing lineup and improvised compositions keep the band and the audience guessing. At its best Project3 are beautiful unexpected sound collages, grooves and free jazz at it's worst Project3 are a train hauling musical instruments plowing into a log filled tractor trailer. Worth a listen I swear.

WFMU:
...I have been a listener of WFMU before I knew what I was listening to. My Dad was a listener. I have been a guest, I have volunteered and I have done artwork for the station.

...Opened in early 1985, Finyl Vinyl has remained one of the finest used vinyl and reissue record shops anywhere. Run by Robert Cohen who could be described as no less than an authority of almost all music prior to teh 1980's. Bins so deep you need a ladder to get out.

...There is nothing better in the world than a 45 RPM vinyl record. These folks put out CHOICE QUALITY STUFF! I can't say enough about their brand of Funky goodness all wrapped in Lo-Fi dressings. They even have a Singles Club that nets you everything they have available including stickers, magazines, etc, etc... Just go to there site and start buying.

...Record Brothers is the next step for Grooovy Sounds Unlimited. These are the guys that brought the world "Vital Organs:Vol.One". We can only hope their sophmore effort is at least as half good.

SOUL FIRE/SAUCY/LENAR/PSYCHO:
...Way out dirty funk from one of the labels that started all the fuss in the first place. Phillip Lehman continues to bring the world the rawest and most interesting funk.

...Desco Records co-founder Gabriel Roth's new soul/funk label. Check it out now for new releases & show dates.

...With a steady stream of funk Finland's own funk agregation now also have a new 45 label Timmion and a website, featuring all the info you need, photos, soundbites, shows & more. Check it out!

..."An online site devoted to crate digging, deepfunk, northern soul from deep to northern stompers, mod jazz, soul food cookery, art, hip hop and whatever else we are feelin'. This is my interpretation of soul - anything goes so long as it has that special something that moves you. Inside you will find the soul kitchen filled with recipes from the deep south and beyond, interviews with recording artists and illustrators/artists, excavations from the crates, top tens, audio clips, club listings and lots more." - Martin Lawrie (I couldn't have said it any better - pat.)

...There is always something good going on just a Stones Throw away.

JAMES TAYLOR/JTQ (James Taylor Quartet):
...In this day and age is there anyone playing hammond "b" with more creativity and genuine feel. I can't get enough of these guys.

SCORPIO/RHINO:
...Scorpio has been a blessing to the world of reissues. If you thought it should be re-issued these guys have already thought of doing so. Just check our shelves every other week. So many to choose from, sometimes we get confused. Some of their releases are done on 180 gm. vinyl in association with Rhino Records.
...Rhino are the re-issue masters. We know most of their releases are on cd but...The Heavyweight!

BGP:
...Easily one of the more disturbing sites to navigate. If you have the time and patients it is well worth it. Did we mention that we thought Dean Rudland just may be a God.

...Easily one of the most comprehensive labels to be doing reissues this side of Rhino Records. Bob Irwin has got it all together with beautiful sounding and exquisitlty packaged re-issues as well as recordings that unfortunately never saw the light of day when they were first recorded.

...Around since the Mid-Eighties and speciallizing in Pre 70's Rock-N-Roll. Norton has been a consistant source for quality re-issues as well as current releases by some touring outfits. Recently they have expanded to include the more soulful side of things with releases by such great artists as Gino Washington, The Mighty Hannibal, Andre williams and Rudy Ray Moore. Go team!

IRMA:
...Not everything on the label fits our taste but the pieces that do...These guys are single handedly responsible for the Sound Library Music craze.

...Home for our favorite drummer Andrew Barker. Andrew's release here with Daniel Carter "ANDREW BARKER/DANIEL CARTER DUO" (QBICO 02) Daniel Carter- alto & tenor saxophones, flute/Andrew Barker- dr, balaphone. Recorded at Earthshaking Music by Jeff Rackley, Atlanta, GA, August 21, 2000. "Common Soldier 1" is a fierce as, ts/dr duo, covering all side A (21 min.); "Common Soldier 2" kicks off side B with another strong as/dr duo, while "Common Soldier 3" is an oblique fl/balaphone duo which ends the record in a mellow mood. classic Free Jazz !

MOTEL RECORDS:
...From the "Vampyros Lesbos" to "Bombay the Hardway." A few more releases and these guys can achieve legendary status in no time.  (Site Coming Soon)
